About Us

Who Are Win-Kenya?

Women in Nuclear Kenya (WiN-Kenya) is a non-profit organization registered as a society under the Societies Act of Kenya in April 2022. The objective of the society is to promote the participation of women in Kenya in the nuclear science and related fields and support them to realize their full potential in those fields. WiN-Kenya is one of the over 30 international chapters under the umbrella of Women Nuclear Global (WiN-Global). It currently has about 100 registered members.

Our Goals and Objectives

Maintain a database of all women in the various nuclear related fields
To provide a platform for information exchange, resources mobilization and networking for professional development to its members
To promote broad-based understanding of the fields of nuclear science and related applications, radiation protection and environmental concerns through targeted interventions including public information programs, fellowships, and publications by its members in journals and periodicals
Create a national forum and network for women in these fields enabling them to meet regularly to exchange ideas and experiences towards advancing the role of women in nuclear technology applications
To identify opportunities that target women and girl child in training and human resource development
To interface with government and organs of the state, industry role-players, and institutions of learning to advance human capacity development in the nuclear and related fields
To establish cooperative relationships and liaisons with organizations whose objectives complement those of the society including the worldwide associations of Women in Nuclear and participation in Women in Nuclear-Africa (WiN-Africa) and Women in Nuclear-Global (WiN-Global) activities
To undertake any other activities that fosters an environment conducive to advancing the empowerment of women in nuclear and related fields.
